Home Sellers FAQ's

1. Can’t I net more money from the sale of my home on my own?
On the surface it may appear so but in fact statistics show that homes listed and sold through real estate agents sell for more money. In fact the higher sales prices oftentimes more than cover the commission. The sales price of a home is determined by supply and demand. Demand for your home is a function of its exposure. The more people that see and know about your home, the better your chances. The best method to increase exposure is by listing your home on the MLS.

2. Shouldn’t I use one of the large chain real estate agencies to sell my home?
That’s what the large chain real estate agencies want you to believe. In fact they are no more adept at selling your home than any other competent and qualified agent. In many cases, the agents working for these large conglomerates are inexperienced beginners. The bottom line is that the most effective way to sell your home is by listing it on the MLS, which any and all real estate companies can do. At FRR, instead of a one shoe or commission fits all approach which translates into a 6% commission for the typical bundle of services…we've unbundled our services and let you pick and choose the services that you need.

3. Is FRR a discount broker?
No, FRR works as a real estate consultant on a fee for service basis. We charge a pre-determined fee for the services we offer rather than a commission.

4. What is the typical commission for listing a home and where does the money go?
The typical or standard commission is 6% which is usually split evenly between the listing agent (your agent) and the buyer agent (the one who brings in the buyer). If your agent is lucky enough to find the buyer they keep the entire commission, in the majority of cases. At FRR you only pay a fee, which is usually less than 1%, to list your home. You are still obligated to pay a commission to the buyer agent, which you can determine (customarily no more than 3%).

5. Since FRR charges far less to list my home than a traditional agent, how can I be assured that I’m getting the best service?
FRR provides various options when listing your home. We can provide full service just as a traditional agency and still save you thousands, or limited service. The choice is yours. We provide the tools and options and you make the decisions. We have many options available to showcase and advertise your home.

6. Can I use your services without listing my home?
Listing your home is not a prerequisite to utilize our services. We provide our services on an à la carte basis. We offer you assistance from setting the right price for your home and negotiating contracts to coordinating the closing and everything in between. Check out our
